Meet Marco

My journey began growing up in Lima, Peru, and then led me to the United States shortly after high school in pursuit of the American dream. Once here, I joined the United States Army—Infantry Division, where I proudly served in Kuwait and Haiti. After serving in the military, I chose to dedicate my life to protecting and serving our communities.

My career in law enforcement began with the Memphis Police Department and continued with the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, where I have gained invaluable experience over the past 27 years. As the first Memphis Police Department Latino Liaison Officer, I worked diligently to bridge the gap between law enforcement and the Latino community, fostering trust and collaboration. During my tenure at the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, I gained extensive experience working as a task force officer with the FBI Memphis Field Office. This equipped me with the skills to tackle Violent Crimes and Drug Cartel Organizations, emphasizing teamwork with local, state, federal law enforcement agencies and their prosecuting offices.

Throughout my career in law enforcement, I have gained a large variety of experience in Violent Crimes, Special Investigations, Training, and Instructing. Through this vast range of experience, I have gained a deep understanding of the needs and unique challenges that Shelby County and its municipalities face today.
